Well we have Internet access again… Lets see for how long.

Another first - April 24, 2008

Well, we had another first happen yesterday.

At around 5pm someone started knocking on the door and ringing the door bell. When I finally got to the door I didn’t see anyone and almost shut the door when I happen to look down a little and what did I see? A kid.

“Can your son come out and play?” I heard in a slightly lispy voice.

By this time Bobby is heading to the door asking “What is it?”. 

Of course Bobby wanted to go out and play so since we didn’t know this boy or his parents I volunteered to go outside and supervise. At first the boy wanted to play in our backyard, but with our dogs Heather and I didn’t think is was a good idea.

For 30 minutes I watched Bobby and this neighbor run up and down the sidewalk pulling on limbs, trying to climb trees, pulling bark off of said trees, picking up pine cones and just flat out being boys.

At one point the boy’s mother called out for him and they both ran down the street. I gave Bobby a couple of minutes to meet the mother before I got up and walked down to meet her.

I think we are going to like this neighborhood.

Internet is still down.

I write this while sitting on the tailgate of my truck. Thank goodness for people that don’t know how to secure their wireless connections.

We have been in the house a total of 9 days. Out of those 9 days we have called the ISP/Phone company 8 times. Now our phone line is dead. The phone company says it will have someone out tonight to repair the phone issue but the DSL will not be fixed till tomorrow. <Insert sarcasm here> YEA RIGHT.

If this doesn’t get fixed and stay fixed soon, I will revel the company in question.
